Founded in 2011, Montana Capital Partners AG (together with its affiliates, “MCP”) is a FINMA-regulated specialist private markets investor, with a core focus on secondaries, spanning both private equity and private credit strategies, alongside primaries and co-investments.
With more than USD 5bn in assets under management and more than 145 transactions completed across the platform, we partner with LPs and GPs in the European and North American lower- and mid-market. Stephan Wessel
CEO and Managing Partner
Before joining Montana, he acted as independent advisor on behalf of two European private equity investors. In this capacity, he led a team to manage a diversified portfolio of control investments in Europe and North America, successfully guiding each company to exit over the course of c. 4 years. Furthermore, in the role of CIO, he ran global private investing for a leading European family with a focus on mid-market fund and co-investments. Prior to that, Stephan led the direct investment teams of two single family offices to pursue control investments in consumer & retail companies. He began his career in 2004 with UBS Investment Bank in M&A advisory in London and Frankfurt. Stephan holds a Dr. rer. pol. of Business and Economics from Otto-Beisheim School of Management, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Münster and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from Samford University, USA.
Maëlle Reichenbach
Director
Before joining MCP, Maëlle worked at Credit Suisse in Zurich, where she was originating and structuring predominantly asset-backed lending solutions for a portfolio of global companies. She started her career in 2013 with Credit Suisse’s Career Start program in Geneva. Maëlle holds a MA in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva. She is also a CFA charterholder.
Maximilian Giers
Director
Before joining MCP, Maximilian focused on Small Cap Buyouts in the DACH region. He started his career at Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking team in Frankfurt, advising Corporates and Sponsors on Mergers & Acquisitions as well as Capital Market Transactions. Maximilian holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen as well as an MBA from INSEAD Business School.
João Paredes de Abreu
Director
Before joining MCP, João was an Associate at Credit Suisse’s Structured Transactions Group, where he primarily focused on complex lending transactions for corporate and private European clients. He also gained experience in structuring leveraged finance solutions for buyout funds while with the bank’s Financial Sponsors Group in London. Prior to this, João gained experience in equity research and investment management at a boutique equities fund in Lisbon. João holds a MSc in Management from London Business School and a BSc in Economics from the University of Porto.
